Mountains

Mountains Animal Hospital is easily the best equipped Hospital in the Blue Mountains. Mountains Animal Hospital now has the combined experience of 6 full-time vets available to help provide the best possible care for you and your pet. We are happy to see second opinion cases discretely if you are frustrated with an ongoing health problem. We have an abundance of indoor air conditioned boarding space available. Mountains Animal Hospital now also has an on-site pet supplies shop and qualified groomer to provide a complete pet care centre for the people and pets of the Mountains.

 Mountains Animal Hospital has been under new local ownership and management since August 2008. Tony and Anna, the new owners, are long-term residents of the Lower Blue Mountains, and currently reside with their two young children in Blaxland. Anna was brought up in Mt Riverview, and attended Mt Riverview Primary School and Blaxland High School. Anna works part-time in the Hospitals and also works as a Solicitor in child protection law. Tony, is one of our vets. Tony was brought up in the Eastern Suburbs and attended Sydney Boys High School. Tony moved to the Lower Blue Mountains to live with his wife about 12 years ago.

Tony and Anna are committed to continuing to provide the residents of the Lower Blue Mountains with the same high quality of care that they have come to expect over the years from Mountains Animal Hospital at Blaxland. However, we have also made some timely improvements. These include:

  • a genuine 24 hour emergency service. Simply call M: 0418 38 38 15 to be connected directly to one of our Vets. You will no longer be referred to another Hospital, or worse still, to an Emergency Hospital at Strathfield or Baulkam Hills. You will be seen at Mountains Animal Hospital at Blaxland by one of your own Vets. We are even available on Christmas Day!;
  • we have extended our opening hours on Sunday from 10am - 2pm and there is no longer any Sunday surcharge;
  • we have reduced our prices to match those of our sister Hospital at Nepean Animal Hospital. Our billing regime is now fair and reasonable and you will not be pressured to undertake tests, etc. that are not necessary to obtain a diagnosis;
  • we have changed the way our Veterinarians are paid. Mountains Animal Hospital does not provide financial incentives for its Veterinarians to "over service," hence enabling us to decrease the cost of our services whilst maintaining our high level of care;
  • an overnight monitoring service on site for critically ill patients or for clients who desire this extra level of care and piece of mind.
  • If it's the best care for your pet that is important, then Mountains Animal Hospital is the place for you.
