Veterinarians

Dr Tony Karolis BVSc (hons 1)
Tony has been fascinated by animals his entire life. He was determined to become a vet after watching one to many episodes of All Creatures Great and Small. He studied Veterinary Science at the University of Sydney and Graduated with 1st Class Honours in 2001. Tony is the Practice owner of Nepean & Mountains Animal Hospitals. Tony is our Senior Veterinarian and has a particular interest in orthopedic surgery. He is married to Anna and they have two young children, Hartley and Bonnie. His interests outside his family, and being a vet, include surfing, martial arts, hiking, camping, politics and environmental issues, and cooking (he is an excellent cook indeed! [says his wife]). He is currently training for the city to surf fun run and consequently has extremely sore shins.

Tony shares his home with one cat Nemo, who is has the family crown firmly planted on his head, two birds (Indie, the Major Mitchell and Charlie, the Cockatiel), two dogs, Sasha (an old staffi X from the RSPCA) and Hairy McLairy a three legged scruffy looking black dog. A more recent addition of five rescued former battery hens have taken residence in the backyard and are duly laying more eggs than we can eat.

Tony is a member of the Australian Veterinary Association, the Australian Practice Management Association, and the Inaugural Australian Veterinary Group of 20.
